Glenn van Straalen has scored a fifteenth place in today’s last World Supersport race of 2019 at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. As in Argentina, Glenn raced before at Losail aboard the EAB Racing Team Kawasaki ZX-6R and that made it more easy for both rider and team.

The start of the weekend was promising as Glenn was in P17 after FP1 and FP2.

Glenn: “It was a good first day in Qatar. It’s a nice track and we made good steps forward. Losail is the longest track of the year and then it is nice to end the first two sessions 1.8 seconds behind P2.”

After a strong FP3 (P14) Glenn was fast in the Superpole as well: P16.

“The first stint was good! I needed a slipstream for the ultimate lap, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a good slipstream. The pace and feeling were good and that was the most important thing for the race.”

Unfortunately, Glenn did not make it easy for himself in the race as he had a difficult begin. But after a strong recovery, he finished the race in P15 and scored his tenth world championship point of 2019.

Glenn: “I’m happy to end our good weekend in Qatar in the points. I had a bad first lap and had to find my rhythm again. That worked out well in the end. The grip level was different than in the Superpole, because the race was held on a different time of the day. I learned a lot this season and I want to thank my team for that!”
