EAB Racing Team rider Glenn van Straalen didn’t finished today’s World Supersport race at Jerez in Spain, despite a very strong performance. Glenn had to start from P20 after a challenging Saturday, but given the circumstances he was still more or less satisfied.

Glenn: “The lap times weren’t bad yesterday, but I think there was a little more possible in the Superpole. On the other hand, I was happy that I could ride in qualifying after my crash in FP3. The team worked hard again and my race goal was to pay them back with a good result in the race.”

On Sunday Glenn had a decent start aboard his EAB Racing Team Kawasaki ZX-6R and was in P18 after the first lap and made more progress in the early stages of the World Supersport race. The chance of scoring World Championship points increased lap after lap, certainly when he took P14 halfway through the race, but with one lap to go he had to enter the pit after a crash.

Glenn: “It was a very good race. After a bad start I was able to recover from outside the top-20 to a strong 14th position. I pushed very hard for the 13rd place but I crashed. My mistake and that makes me very disappointed. We had the speed for points… I’m sorry for the team and would like to thank them all for their hard work. My pace was good, so we have to build on that for Misano.”

The next race is in two weeks’ time at Misano in Italy.
