EAB RACING TEAM AND GLENN VAN STRAALEN STAY TOGETHER IN WORLD SUPERSPORT FOR 2019

After two very strong performances in Argentina and Qatar, EAB Racing Team and Glenn van Straalen will stay together for 2019 in the World Supersport championship. Last season, Dutchmen Glenn van Straalen competed in the World Supersport 300 championship and ended in an impressive second place during his home race at the TT Circuit Assen, a repeat of his performance of 2017. He ended the 2018 season in ninth, only eleven points from fifth.

After the last World Supersport 300-race at Magny-Cours he got the opportunity to race for EAB Racing Team during the very first ever World Supersport race in Argentina. Despite a crash aboard the Kawasaki ZX-6R, he made such an impression that he got a second opportunity in Qatar. At the Losail International Circuit he was fast again and that offers a lot of perspective for 2019.

Glenn van Straalen: “It is really fantastic that I will be able to ride a full World Supersport season and to be honest, I’m speechless about it. During my first two events for the EAB Racing Team it went very well, but unfortunately I scored two DNF’s in both races. The contact with the team was very good, however and I’m sure much better results are possible next year. I can’t wait to test the bike this winter to be prepared in the best way for the first race of 2019 at Phillip Island. I would like to thank all of my sponsors, Henk Salomons from Kawasaki, team owner Ferry Schoenmakers and all those who support me. And certainly also Arie Vos, my previous team manager, for his support during 2018.”

Martijn Polinder (team manager): “We are very happy and proud about this project for 2019. The EAB Racing Team has a long and successful history with racing talents and I’m sure Glenn is the next one in this long list of big names. In both Argentina and Qatar he did a very good job and we are convinced that we are going to have a promising World Supersport year and therefore we can’t wait for the first race weekend at the end of February in Australia.”
