Alex Schacht has ended the 2017 European Superstock 1000 season in twenty-first place after an impressive race at Jerez de la Frontera in the south of Spain. Schacht had to start from pitlane as the team had to use a fifth engine, witch is over the maximum number allowed. With thirty-five riders on the grid, the task for Alex was very difficult but he gave all he had at Jerez.

After the first lap he made up four positions and half-way through the race he was already in twenty-third place. With only one lap to go, a top-20-place was possible but Florian Marino overtook Alex just before the finish.

In the championship Alex and his EAB Schacht Racing Team ended 2017 in sixteenth place with twenty points.

Alex: “We did a really good race and I overtook thirteen people. This season has been amazing! We struggled with the engines the last three races, but overall we achieved a lot more than we expected! I’ve shown that I belong in this class as we did two top-10-results and we managed to score points in a lot of races!”

“The team has been amazing and it looks we are going to be in the championship next year and my aim will be top-10 in that case! Thanks to the team for a great season! It’s been a huge learning year, and I have never gone so quick on a motorcycle before! I will be super prepared next year with a lot of winter training and will spend more time on a motorcycle. Thanks to all for the support throughout the year!”
